LYMPHOEDEMA

Kim is an Accredited Lymphoedema Therapist with advanced training and extensive experience working with Lymphoedema since 2012, enabling her to treat Lymphoedema and Lipoedema in any location of the body. She has presented twice at the Australian Lymphology Association (ALA) national symposium and at the Wounds Australia national conference.

She has been specifically trained to treat wounds associated with Oedema such as Leaky “Red” Legs (Lymphorrhea), and ulcer.

When recommending garments for the management of lymphoedema Kim will liaise with you to find the best fit and price. The garments she regularly prescribes include Medi, Jobst, Haddenham, Thusaine, Sigvaris, Cosmac, Solaris, Juzo and Bioflect. These provide all types of compression.

Because of the broad scope of her training and experience, we are confident that she can help manage complex issues for people with multiple needs and/or conditions, including chronic pain. MANUAL THERAPY

Kim is a qualified McKenzie Therapist, using manual therapy, simple exercises, and education to treat pain, injuries, weakness, or disability. McKenzie treatment has been shown by international studies to be effective in the treatment of pain via Telehealth.

Veronika is a highly skilled Lymphoedema Massage Therapist who joined the Breakthrough team in April 2022.

She holds a qualification as a registered nurse from the Czech Republic and completed her Diploma of Remedial massage and Integrated Body Therapies in Australia 2003. With over 20 years of experience as a Massage Therapist, Veronika has collaborated with chiropractors, physiotherapists, personal trainers, naturopaths and rehab hospital teams.

Originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Veronika has embraced the Australian lifestyle since 2001, initially planning a year of travel that turned into a lifelong adventure.

Five years ago, Veronika discovered a passion for treating lymphoedema, and after completing the appropriate qualification has made this a focus of her practice. Veronika’s approach centres on understanding the root causes of issues, enhancing mobility and alleviating pain for her clients. Veronika works closely with Kim Allan our MGS Lymphoedema Physiotherapist with a combined complementary treatment approach.

Sherienne is the most recent member of the Breakthrough team!

• Advice and treatment for prevention of lymphoedema secondary to cancer with assistance of LDex, exercise, massage and compression garments for travel.
• Treatment of lymphoedema: including massage with or without ICG guidance, low level laser, sequential compression pump and ‘lymphatouch’.
• Lipoedema massage and garmenting.
• Management of chronic oedemas.
• Prescription of compression garments for upper and lower limbs, including wraps – both standard and custom.
• Assistance with funding for support through DVA, NDIS and Enable.

Outside of work, Sherienne is an avid rugby player, having represented Singapore in Rugby 7s tournaments all around Asia. She also enjoys bushwalking, swimming and true crime documentaries.
